If you’ve been following The Cigar Life, you know that Buffalo Trace is my go-to bourbon, and when I’m smoking a cigar I almost always have a few fingers of Buffalo Trace to accompany it. At just over $20, I feel that the quality of this bourbon is hard to beat at the price, and will match up toe-to-toe with much more expensive bourbons.
The Buffalo Trace distillery, located in Franklin County, Kentucky, is the oldest continuously operating distillery in America, and is a 7-time winner of the “Distillery of the Year” award. The Buffalo Trace bourbon is said to be “One of the world’s greatest whiskies” by Jim Murray of Whiskey Magazine…and by me, for that matter.
When I drink this elixir of the gods, I always drink it with a few rocks. The bourbon treats the palate to pleasantly smooth vanilla, spice and oak flavors, with hints of honey. It has a beautiful finish that lingers in your mouth a bit, teasing you into taking another sip. For that reason, a bottle never seems to last too long. Good thing it’s one of the more affordable bourbons.
To me, Buffalo Trace is a great-tasting, easy-drinking bourbon, but don’t take my word for it. Give it a try and see what you think. Because, as much as I like it, you are the only one with your palate.

Love it!
